Surrogate Mothers of the Bible

Brother Lee Vayle

Shall we pray.

Heavenly Father we are very grateful this morning hour to know that You are here in the form of the Holy Ghost and the Pillar of Fire.

Especially Lord we are glad, because You have come to finish that which You started, which You stopped Lord temporarily in the Garden of Eden and held off six thousand years to bring a people to adoption, to immortality.

Especially Lord, are we glad not only because of that, but because the days were evil and stressed and the wicked have increased with wickedness until Lord, how many people are genuine born again Christians we do not know.

Knowing Lord, it was religion in the Garden outside the Garden in the first little age where the first murder was committed, because of an evil deed, murder developed. We realize therefore that this is perhaps the darkest age, truly it would be the darkest age of all time.

So we’re very glad for Your Light that You give Yourself and shed abroad in our hearts by Your Own Spirit that give us the knowledge and revelation of Yourself in this hour Lord, to make sure we’re going to have what it requires to bring us into that state of immorality, the righteous who have gone on before us to assume glorified bodies and all to go to the Wedding Supper in a Rapture.

Father, we’re grateful for that today and we pray Lord, that You’ll help us to remember that and so walk as those who are guests at the great Wedding Supper. Participants actually partaking Lord, in this great hour that is here.

And Father, we thank You for this day, we pray Lord that as it has been dedicated to mothers and we know it should not have been and in it all that You will not share Your Glory with anybody but though Lord, is a day that man has done something about.

May we pray a little message Lord, at this time may be good for us based upon Your Word concerning the hour in which we live delineating upon that which is good for mothers in Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen.

You may be seated.

01

Now, this morning I want to speak on ‘Surrogate Mothers of the Bible’. Surrogate Mothers of the Bible.

Now, since this is Mother’s Day, and since of course we have a number of mothers, with growing families in our congregation I thought I might just say something from the Scriptures that would give us perhaps some more positive and enlightening faith in God concerning the welfare of our children of who depends so much upon their mothers.

Now, of course it’s been said, and you all know it’s been said, and I don’t know who said it, but someone said that, “The hand that rocks the cradle controls the destiny of the nation,” or words something to that effect.

Because the mother’s or the mother of the child, the mothers of the children of that nation have a tremendous effect upon the children in just about every aspect of life.

That’s literally from the cradle where the initial forming is made to where they’re on their own.

And their training, that’s the children’s training has almost always been determined by the mother’s, because of course they are so much of the time with the children.

02

Now, to begin this message, my title is not exactly proper, or perfect, it’s proper enough, but it’s not exactly perfect, but it will do.

Now, the word ‘surrogate’ means, ‘substitute’. It signifies therefore being used by someone so that whatever needs to be done is done.

And of course the one who should be doing it or primarily would be the one doing it is incapable of doing it for some reason.

That reason could be a good reason, could be something that has to do with the person physically. It has to do with something perhaps mentally.

It may have to do with attitudes, but it’s something that should be done by the original person, or the actual designated one. But it’s not; it’s done by somebody else.

03

Now, actually the surrogate becomes the channel. That what he [ it] becomes, he [it] becomes a means to an end. To be a surrogate is not the usual or the common.

Now that’s one thing we have to understand, it’s not usual, it’s not common. It is more the unusual and the uncommon.

Now, it’s not only unusual but it can be for honorable or dishonorable purposes. Many times people use others.

Now, others are used, and the purpose is not always honorable, it’s not always right, but we have surrogates definitely. This can also bring hardship and misunderstanding.

That’s not the same as a scapegoat. A scapegoat is when they’re definitely planned to take blame for which something they’ve never done.

But this is where there is a purpose perhaps and a joining into it on the grounds that the person understands how she or he, especially she is going to be a surrogate in this case, and great hardship and great misunderstanding can come from it.

04

Now, we’ll look at Scriptures, that’s why I haven’t used any Bible readings at this point. But we’ll look at Scriptures to see surrogate mothers.

Now the first surrogate mother in the Bible and I’m sure you all know who she is, at least I think she’s the first one is Hagar.

And she’s over here in Genesis the 16th chapter :1-15. So we’re going to read about her.

Genesis 16:1-3

(01) Now Sarai Abram’s wife bare him no children; [but] she had an handmaid, whose name was Hagar.

(02) And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold now, the LORD hath restrained me from bearing: [Now see, now she’s incapable of having children so she’s going to have children which is literally ridiculous, someone is going to have them for her. She’ll need a substitute.] I pray thee, go in unto my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her. And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai.

(03) And Sarai Abram’s wife took Hagar her [hand] maid the Egyptian, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife.

05

Now, you notice that she’s literally a concubine here in the sense of the word, an adjunct to the household. But she’s literally his wife.

This is an introduction to polygamy here a long time after we found it introduced by the progeny of Cain, it seemed that they were more or less monogamist.

Genesis 16:4-5

(04) And he went in unto Hagar and she conceived: and when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress was despised in her eyes.

(05) And Sarai said unto Abram, My wrong be upon thee: I have given my maid into thy bosom; and when she saw that she had conceived, I was despised in her eyes: the Lord judge between me and thee.

You see this wasn’t working too good, this surrogate. Now she had a good idea, she wanted children and she wanted her husband to have children.

“Well, [she said,] I can’t do it I’m incapable,” so we’ll see that you have children. That was a nice thought on her part, she meant well.

Genesis 16:6-16

(06) …Abram said unto Sarai, [I] behold, thy maid is in thy hand; do to her as it pleaseth thee. When Sarai dealt hardly with her, she fled from her face.

(07) And the angel of the LORD found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness, by the fountain in the way to Shur.

(08) And he said, Hagar, Sarai’s maid, whence camest thou? And whither wilt thou go? And she said, I flee from the face of my mistress Sarai.

(09) And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Return to thy mistress, and submit thyself under her hands.

(10) And the angel of the LORD said unto her, I will multiply thy seed exceedingly, that it shall not be numbered for multitude.

(11) And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Behold, thou art with child, and shalt bear a son, and shalt call his name Ishmael; because the LORD hath heard thy affliction.

(12) And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man’s hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren. [In other words, he’s going to be a thorn in their sides and he’s going to be a real mess.]

(13) And she called the name of the LORD that spake unto her, Thou God seest me: for she said, Have I also here looked after him that seeth me?

(14) Wherefore the well was called Beerlahairoi; [which] is between Kadesh and Bered.

(15) And Hagar bare Abram a son: and Abram called his son’s name, which Hagar bare, Ishmael.

(16) And Abram was fourscore and six years old, when Hagar bare Ishmael to Abram.

Now, of course you see at this time that he was eighty six years of age, and little even at that time he could have been well past the age of being able to father a son.

And so Sarah I said, “Well, we want a child,” and of course she didn’t know it would be a boy or girl, of course there’d be no way of knowing.

But she said, “Well have a son by or child at least by Hagar.” And of course Hagar then was a surrogate in a very accepted sense of the word.

06

Now, surrogacy was also tried out by Rachel. And we go to Genesis the 30th chapter, and you notice in this chapter here how Rachel attempts to identify with the child far more than did Sarai.

Beginning at 1st verse to 8.

Genesis 30:1-3

(01) And when Rachel saw that she bare Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister; and said unto Jacob, Give me children, or else I die.

(02) And Jacob’s anger was kindled against Rachel: and he said, Am I in God’s stead, who hath withheld from thee the fruit of the womb?

(03) And she said, Behold my maid Bilhah, go in unto her; and she shall bear upon my knees, that I may also have children by her.

Quite a charade she was going to pull off here by identification, she was going to actually lie upon her and the child was born so it’ll look like the child was coming forth from her. Anything to identify.

And of course in her case we don’t ridicule this, we understand that back in those days that child bearing was what womanhood was all about, at least they so believed in.

It was the instrument that God had used and children were a great heritage, you know.

And of course in this particular family, those early families there wasn’t the… such a prevalence as there is in this hour to be strapped by children that are so disobedient and unbecoming as to be a menace to the home and a menace to society. The children were a real joy.

And so she wanted to fully identify with this little baby whichever it would be.

Genesis 30:4-6

(04) [So] she gave… Bihah her handmaid to wife: [notice the term again that this is polygamy,] and Jacob went in unto her.

(05) And Bihah conceived and bared Jacob a son.

(06) And Rachel said, God hath judged me, and hath also heard my voice, and hath given me a son: therefore [she called] his name Dan.

07

Now you notice, she takes it upon her to call the name of the child which was the… not given to others, like the girl herself who would have borne the child.

Bihah would have called the child and named it, she had desired of her own, or conceived with somebody else. Remember the angel came to Hagar and told her what to call him.

But she just called him this here, and so she calls his name Dan. And that is judging, because she said that “God has judged me,” and here I’m going to have this child by this girl.

Genesis 30:7-8

(07) And Bilhah Rachel’s maid conceived again, and bare Jacob a second son.

(08) And Rachel said, With great wrestlings have I wrestled with my sister, and I have prevailed: and she called his name Naphtali. [And of course we find that the term for wrestling.]

08

Now, let’s go a little further and we’ll read of what Leah did then.

Genesis 30:12-13

(10)  When Leah saw that she had left bearing, she took Zilpah her maid, and gave her to Jacob to wife.

(11) And Leah said, A troop cometh: and she called his name Gad. [ Now she is triumphing over this, this sister of hers bearing by herself and by her surragates more children, more sons.]

(12) And Zilpah Leah’s maid bare Jacob a second son.

(13) And Leah said, Happy am I, for the daughters will call me blessed: and she called his name Asher. [That’s happy.]

09

All right, what we’re looking at here then is the fact that the surrogate mother of the Twentieth Century was known, and I guess has been known through almost six thousand years.

It’s not something that is unfamiliar, but it is something which is familiar. And I’m just looking at the case histories here where these three births are literally surrogate mothers.

Not that they are not genuine mothers, they are genuine mothers. But they use that terminology as a substitute as a means of procurement of children for somebody else, where the somebody else would take the child, or the children and then rear them exactly according to how they wanted those children reared as though they were very definitely their own.

They had every right to them. It wasn’t a matter of somebody forfeiting a right, or somebody buying a right, or getting a right from a court, or anyway using a method of adoption.

They said, “Look this is what this is all about. This conception therefore is going in a certain direction and the child, (whatever the child or children) will be under the complete dominion of the household to which the child is now recognized to be born.”

That would be very legitimate child.

10

Now, the forth one I want to mention is not at all like the other three, the first three, it is about Jesus Christ Himself when Mary was a true surrogate mother.

And we’ll look at this in a different sense again, because her case is so vitally different as in Luke 1. We’ll go to the book of Luke that’s the best Book to go to and yet another way she wasn’t a surrogate mother, but we just look at it this way. 26-38.

Luke 1:26-33

(26) And in the sixth month [that would be the pregnancy of Elisabeth, Zacharias’ wife] the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,

(27) To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary.

(28) And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among[st] women.

(29) And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.

(30) …the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.

(31) And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and [shall] bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.

(32) He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:

(33) And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

Well he tells you right here, “Look you’re going to bear a son for God, and he’s not going to be your son at all. He being a lineage of royalty, but you’ll bear him.” In other words, it’s the same picture.

“Once he’s born I’m going to take over.” Once he’s born I’m going to take over.

Luke 1:34-35

(34) Then [Mary said] unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing [I’m not married? I’ve haven’t had a man.]

(35) …the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, [even] the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: [in a creative act] therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee [to issue forth out of you] shall be called the Son of God.

The begetting shall be a creative act of egg and sperm placed in the womb of Mary and she shall issue forth a son.

Luke 1:36-37

(36) And behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.

(37) For with God nothing shall be impossible.

11

Now, remember we showed you that word ‘with God’ meant ‘the actual presence of God’. It doesn’t say God is going to stand back and perform miracles.

It said, God was there Himself not in a sexual act. But the point was where was God when He made Adam and Eve as a spirit being? Where was God when He fashioned a body for him? He was there. God is limited.

Let us never ever think that God is some undefined substance, amorphous and floating around. That’s the most ridiculous thing in the world.

God… to be anything to be defined has to have limitations. So therefore, God is a limited Being. He’s limited to God-ship. Let that sink in.

And you and I can’t really understand that can we? And I don’t want to get into theology from this point on, so I got to go back to what I’m talking about.

But God was there, just nail it down, that God was there personally that God was there seeing to everything. He’s like today, seeing to everything. He’s not a God that’s a far off.

And He’s not a God that is in each one of you and me. Although, He’s just a little tiny bit of His Life in each one of you and me, in each of us Himself.

12

So, when God is present, literally present, like He was with Moses and so on. Nothing is impossible.

Luke 1:38

(38) And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; [I will qualify myself by the Words of God and my acceptance to be that person. Let me bring forth That One that I had no more to do with than just being a channel.]

And that’s exactly true. Mary had no more to do with the body of Jesus Christ than nothing.

When it came to that which was the embryo, she did however contribute by being, you might say, ‘the factory, the incubator’, giving the processes of her body to bring forth this One.

13

And so therefore the woman, Mary, brought forth the Savior fulfilling two Scriptures in Isaiah, one in 7: and one in 9: And in 7:14,

Isaiah 7:14

(14) Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name [God with us.] [Shall call His Name God with us.]

So you know therefore, nothing is impossible when God is with you physically, personally and when Jesus came on the scene, nothing was impossible with Him.

He was literally God in a human form. That’s a tremendous thought. Fulfilling also,

Isaiah 9:6

(06) For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given:

Not just born but given. Now notice, a beautiful thing there. A child is born through the Virgin Mary and that Son is given to us.

So therefore, He will meet our needs. This is like the surrogate again in the sense of being vicarious. We can’t do something He’ll do it for us.

Isaiah 9:6

(06) …and the government [after this] shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Now we know a little bit about that terminology but we really don’t know as we’re going to know it very shortly, because when we crown Him King of kings this is when that will break I believe.

We assent to this: we can say, “All right, that’s true,” but it’s not very real let’s face it.

Isaiah 9:7

(07) [And] of the increase of his government… there shall be no end, [that doesn’t sound that’s going on either.] [and] upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment [that’s coming up. He’s working on it at this point. Getting the kingdom ready by means of getting His subjects, but that’s it.] …from henceforth even for ever. The zeal [that’s the red hot fervor of God is going to do] this.

So, God’s got a red hot fervor to bring about a kingdom of people in the Millennium. That’s where the fervor of God is, that’s what He burns hot for to have these many sons that are going to come forth in glory.

14

So, Mary here is a true surrogate as far as we can see a true one. And you’ll notice that today the Twentieth Century they’re employing that.

They’ll take what they call ‘invitro’ in the laboratory process with test tube. They’ll take an egg and a sperm and foster it till they can put it in a woman’s uterus and there it’ll… because it is a life will attach itself and bring forth a child.

They’re doing all kinds of things today and of course this is going to take people further and further from God. Make them wonder more and more until they just wipe themselves out. They’ll all wipe themselves out.

Anyway, okay, we’ve taken those four then.

15

Now, I want to take some other mothers, two of which are surrogate in the sense of completely relinquishing their children to others, so that though they bore them, they were only channels of use for others.

And of course this could be like a type of adoption. And people give up their children for adoption putting them in the complete care of the parents, the foster parents, and saying this child is yours. Or these children and you will do as you like what you think to be expedient.

So, I’m going to look at the two women over here and their children. And we’ll go to the Book of Exodus to begin with.

And Exodus the 2nd chapter 1-10, of course we’re going to deal with the birth of Moses here. All right.

Exodus 2:1-10

(01) And there went a man of the house of Levi, and took to wife a daughter of Levi. [In other words, they’re Levites the tribe of Levi.]

(02) And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months. [Because they were killing off all the children of Egypt.]

(03) And when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an art of bulrushes and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid it in the flags by the river’s [bank.]

(04) And his sister [Miriam I guess it was] stood afar off, to wit what would be done to him.

(05) And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to wash herself at the river; and her maidens walked along by the river’s side; and when she saw the ark among the flags, she sent her maid to fetch it.

(06) And when she had opened it, she saw the child: and, behold, the babe wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, This is one of the Hebrews’ children.

(07) Then said his sister to Pharaoh’s daughter, Shall I go and call to thee a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child?

(08) And Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, Go [get that woman]. And the maid went and called the child’s mother.

(09) And Pharaoh’s daughter said unto her, Take this child away, and nurse it for me, and I will give [you] …wages [for nursing it for me.] And the woman took the child, and nursed it.

(10) And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh’s daughter and he became her son. And she called his name Moses:…Because [she said,] I drew him out of the water.

16

So, you’ll notice here that this woman had a child, and instead of letting the child be at risk for his life, she said, “I’ll just put him in the river here in a little ark and there’ll be some Egyptian…” they weren’t all hard hearted… the Egyptian women who were midwives deliberately refrained from killing the babies.

So she knew they weren’t all hard hearted, she thought, “Well I’ll give him to somebody, even though he’s my child.”

And you can understand a daughter of a Levite shouldn’t be too happy about thinking a pagan Egyptian would bring up her child. But she loved the child enough to do that.

And so she was a surrogate mother in that particular sense. She bore a child for somebody else.

17

Now, the second one we’re going to look at here like Moses is over here in 1 Samuel, and of course this has to do with Samuel and it’s the 1st chapter, we’ll starting reading at the very 1st verse.

1 Samuel 1:1-28

(01) Now there was a certain man of Ramathaimzophim, of mount Ephraim and his name was Elkanah;the son of Jeroham the son of Elihu the son of Tohu the son of Zuph an Ephrathite.

(02) And he had two wives; the name of the one was Hannah, and the name of the other Peninnah: and Peninnah had children, but Hannah had no children.

(03) And this man went up out of his city yearly to worship and to sacrifice unto the LORD of hosts in Shiloh. And the two sons of Eli, Hopni and Phinehas, the priests of the LORD were there.

(04) And when the time was that Elkanah offered, he gave to Peninnah his wife, and to all [his] sons and her daughters, portions:

(05) But unto Hannah he gave a worthy portion;… [He loved Hannah she was his pet.] But the LORD had shut up her womb.

(06) And her adversary also provoked her sore, for to make her fret, because the LORD had shut up her womb. [So she jeered at her, because she had no children.]

(07) And [so] he did so year by year, [that is Elkanah went up year by year,] [And] when she went up to the house of the LORD, so she provoked her; therefore [Hannah] wept… [during all that time but worship when Peninnah was bothering her.]

(08) Then said Elkanah her husband [unto] Hannah, [why do you weep? Why don’t you eat? Why are you fasting?] …why is [your] heart grieved? Am [I not] better… than ten sons?

(09) So Hannah rose up after they had eaten in Shiloh, and after they had drunk. Now Eli the priest sat upon a seat by a post of the temple of the LORD.

(10) And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed unto the LORD, and wept sore.

(11) And she vowed a vow, and said, O LORD of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, And not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will [be a surrogate mother. I’ll put him up for adoption to you] LORD all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head.

(12) And it came to pass, as she continued praying before the LORD, that Eli marked her mouth.

(13) Now Hannah, she spake in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard: therefore Eli thought she had been drunken.

(14) And Eli said unto her, How long wilt thou be drunken? Put away thy wine from thee.

(15) And Hannah answered and said. No. my lord, I am a woman of a sorrowful spirit: I have drunk neither wine nor strong drink, but have poured out my soul before the LORD.

(16) Count not thine handmaid for a daughter of Belial: for out of the abundance of my complaint and grief have I spoken hitherto.

(17) …Eli [said unto her,] Go in peace: and the God of Israel grant thee thy petition that thou hast asked… him.

(18) And she said, Let thine handmaid find grace in thy sight. So the woman went her way, and did eat, and her countenance was no more sad.

(19) And they rose up in the morning early. And worshipped before the LORD, and returned, and came to their house to Ramah: and Elkanah knew Hannah his wife; and the LORD remembered her.

(20) Wherefore it came to pass, when the time was come about after Hannah had conceived, that she bare a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, Because I have asked him of the LORD.

(21) And the man Elkanah, and all his house, went up to offer unto the LORD the yearly sacrifice, and his vow.

(22) [And] Hannah went not up; for she said unto her husband, I will not go up until the child be weaned, and then I will bring him, that he may appear before the LORD, and there abide for ever.

(23) [Now] Elkanah her husband said unto her, Do what seemeth thee good; tarry until thou have weaned him; only the LORD establish his word, So the woman abode, and gave her son suck until she weaned him.

(24) And when she had weaned him, she took him up with her, with three bullocks, and one ephah of flour, and a bottle of wine, and brought him unto the house of the LORD in Shiloh: and the child was young.

(25) And they slew a bullock, and brought the child to Eli.

(26) And she said, Oh my Lord as [the lord] liveth, my Lord, I am the woman that stood by thee here, praying unto the LORD.

(27) [And] for this child I prayed; and the LORD hath given me my petition which I asked of him:

(28) Therefore also I have lent him to the LORD; as long as he liveth he shall be lent to the LORD. And he worshipped… there.

18

Now, these two women both lost their sons to themselves and their family, they gave them to God literally, because that’s what actually the mother of Moses did.

She had to put him in the hands of Almighty God, so no matter what happened God would have jurisdiction somehow, somewhere with the boy’s life.

And we know that Hannah literally gave her boy up to the ministry which he would have gone into anyway being a Levite.

But she especially gave him to God in a way that I don’t think that any of the other mother’s did, because she recognized that she was a surrogate for the Lord bringing forth children unto Almighty God for the ministry that God might want of that person, and she was there ready to be helpful in that particular area.

So, they gave these children to God literally. And you’ll notice that by these children they literally changed the history of the world, and the history of Israel. They literally did that by what they did.

So child bearing brought something that is very high in the estimation of Almighty God.

But particularly I want to notice that these women were instrumental by what they did in changing the history of the world for good. Not for evil, but for good.

There’s so much evil in the world and it comes by people that if there was some way that children could be born and do good it would be very, very wonderful. Now, they were truly magnificent mothers to do this.

19

Now, I want to look at another woman and her son. And there’s some lengthy reading to this, well not so lengthy, but there’s three portions of Scripture.

And we’re going to go first of all to 2 Samuel, and we’ll take the 11th chapter and we’ll read about five verses.

2 Samuel 11:1-5

(01) And it came to pass, after the year was expired, at the time when kings go forth to battle, that David sent Joab and his servants with him, and all Israel; and they destroyed the children of Ammon, and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried still at Jerusalem.

(02) And it came to pass in an evening tide, that David arose from off his bed, and walked upon the roof of the king’s house: and from the roof he saw a woman washing herself; and the woman was very beautiful to look upon.

(03) And David sent and enquired after the woman. And one said, Is not this Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite?

(04) And David sent messengers, and took her; and she came in unto him, and he lay with her; for she was purified from her uncleanness: and she returned unto her house.

(05) And the woman conceived, and sent and told David, and said, I am with child.

20

Okay, 2 Samuel 12:22-24. This is where the child will get sick, and he’s dying. And at that time David is in great sorrow for the child, he won’t eat. I don’t suppose he slept much either.

And then of course the child died, and then David began to eat again.

And they went to him and said, “Why are you doing this?” They thought he’d be in great and bitter straits since the child died. If he was that bad while the child was living.

2 Samuel 12:22-23

(22) And he said, While the child was yet alive, I fasted and wept: for I said, Who can tell whether God will be gracious to me, that the child may live?

(23) But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.

In other words, the child is dead, and David will die sometime. Now watch your next verse. And here it says:

2 Samuel 12:24

(24) And David comforted Bathsheba his wife, and went in unto her, and lay with her: and she bare a son, and he called his name Solomon: and the LORD loved him.

21

All right, let’s go all the way… let me see we’ll go all the way to 1 Kings now the 11th chapter 1-13.

This is about Solomon. He’s a great king now mind you, but notice:

1 Kings 11:1

(01) But king Solomon loved many strange women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites;

You talk about mixing the seed up, he was crazy to do that, absolutely crazy to do that. To be completely driven by his follies lust. See, he got too big for himself.

1 Kings 11:2-4

(02) Of the nations concerning which the LORD said unto the children of Israel, [You] shall not go in to them, neither shall they come in unto you: for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods: Solomon clave [he just clave] unto these in love. [So called love.]

(03) And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart.

(04) For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD… as was the heart of David his father.

I want you to notice something here, you can be pretty skunky guy, because you’re human being, and you will sin after the flesh.

But if you worship the one True God and got a revelation of Him, you’re on pretty sure ground brother/sister, everything else will fall in line.

And if you haven’t got that you ain’t got it. Why do you think the Spirit the last time comes to give a complete revelation of Godhead? To get you out of here.

So therefore, you better be happy with everything you can receive from the Lord God concerning His great august wonderful Presence. He was not like David, he blew it.

Now David had a lot of women, five hundred, and it wasn’t because Solomon had twice as many that he blew it. It was that David didn’t run after strange flesh, he stayed where God wanted him. He stayed right with God.

1 Kings 11:5-13

(05) [And] Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, [imagine that] and Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites.

(06) And Solomon did evil in the sight of the Lord, and went not fully after the LORD, as did David his father. [You got that right today, Trinitarians.]

(07) Then did Solomon build an high place for Chemosh, the abomination of Moab; in the hill that is before Jerusalem, and for Molech the abomination of the children of Ammon.

(08) …likewise did he for all his strange wives, which burnt incense and sacrificed unto their gods.

(09) And the LORD was [very] angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned from the LORD God of Israel, which had appeared unto him twice. [You see what can happen to people they just want to drift away.]

(10) And had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods: but he kept not that which the Lord commanded.

(11) Wherefore the LORD said unto Solomon, Forasmuch as this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept my covenant and my stature, which I have commanded thee, I will surely rend the kingdom from thee, and will give it to thy servant. [Why not? Because you see they are already in idolatry.]

(12) Notwithstanding in thy days I will not do it for David thy father’s sake: [not his owns sake but David’s] but I will rend it out of the hand of thy son.

(13) Howbeit I will not rend away all the kingdom; but will give one tribe to thy son for David my servant sake, [that would be Judah] and for Jerusalem’s sake which I have chosen. [Even the priesthood was shot, they had very little left. Okay.]

22

Now, you’ll notice here evidently Bathsheba did not adhere to Proverbs 22:6, to “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

Because Solomon not only departed partway as a youngster, but he departed a great way by the time he was older showing you that if you get the wrong seeds as a child, you’ll bend towards the wrong seed a whole lot more than you’ll bend toward the right seed, at the right training.

Now it is a great pity that Solomon had to cry out as an old man ready to die as he cried out in Ecclesiastes chapter 12.

Now Moses was taken off the scene for a little disobedience, but taken right over, not glorified but in a fantastic condition. Something like Rapture on the grounds the Moses wasn’t sick at all.

Then we see Samuel died in a full age absolutely godly, absolutely no regrets. Now, Moses really couldn’t have regrets, although he did have regrets.

There’s no man that doesn’t have regrets. But we look at Moses’ life carefully, this was all something laid out that God knew in His sovereignty what would happen and he made full preparation and for it and also the remedy.

23

Now, let’s look at this Scripture he wrote:

Ecclesiastes 12:1-4

(01) Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;

(02) While the sun, or the light, or the moon, or the stars, be not darkened, nor the clouds return after the rain:

(03) In the day when the keepers of the house shall tremble, [your knees get weak, trembling] and the strong men shall bow themselves, and the grinders cease because they are few, [their teeth are falling out] and those that look out of the windows be darkened, [your eyesight’s failing.]

(04) And the doors shall be shut in the streets, when the sound of the grinding is low, [famine in the land] and he shall rise… at the voice of the bird, [he can’t sleep] and… the daughters of musick shall be brought low; [there’s no gayety.]

In other words, your life is ceasing, things are going bad for you, and it’s just not too good.

And he said the reason for this is, because he said, “You didn’t remember your Creator in the days of your youth. There’s something missing.”

Like it says in the Bible, “Honor thy father and mother that your days be long on the land that the Lord your God gives you.”

Ecclesiastes 12:5-10

(05) …[and] when they shall be afraid of that which is high, and fears shall be in the way, and the almond tree shall flourish, [that means you’re getting white hair] …the grasshopper shall be a burden, [they say if a grasshopper lit on you, you’d fall over] and desire shall fail: [that goes for right down the line physical and all] because man goeth to his long home, [he’s going to die] and the mourners go about the streets:

(06) Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, [that’s typical. I don’t know that’s all… what they used to do back there.] or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, [it’s all symbolic live or die] or the wheel be broken at the cistern. [They were carried on a wheel from there to the grave. I don’t understand it all, it’s all in there.]

(07) Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it. [Just like Brother Branham said. Not the Holy Ghost but that spirit.]

(08) Vanity of vanities, saith the preacher; all is vanity.

(09) And moreover, because the preacher was wise, he still taught the people knowledge; yea, he gave good heed, and sought out, and set in order many proverbs.

(10) The preacher sought to find out acceptable words; and that which was written was upright, even words of truth.

In other word, Solomon said, “I’ve learned my lesson a little bit late in life. See?

Ecclesiastes 12:11-12

(11) The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies, which are given from one shepherd.

(12) …further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.

And that’s true, if he had been brought up right as a child he should had things moving in his life. Now you can’t make every child come across. But the only hope that anyone has is that the children be reared in the admonition of God.

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14

(13) Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

(14) For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

24

Now, you notice that Moses was brought up of course in a palace. But you know, before he got there his mother had pretty good control of him.

By the time he was weaned and no doubt she was around there as his real mother while the surrogate was around taking all the credit and all the glory. Which we know that Pharaoh’s sister did a good job on the boy.

Then we see of course Samuel, and he was raised in a ministry which he was entitled to the ministry, but you notice, a lot of Levites were entitled to ministries, but he’s the one that had the real thing. See?

Now, where did it come from? It came literally from the mothers. Not that the fathers didn’t have a place in it that is true. The fathers were the protectors and they were the authorities, but the mother had so much to do with the children.

Now Eve the mother of all living, the first mother, she made two remarkable statements:

Number one: she said, “I’ve got me a man from the Lord,” when it came to Cain.

And after Cain killed Abel, she said, “God has appointed me another seed instead of Abel.”

25

In other words, this woman recognized God in birth. She said again, “I am the one that God used, so therefore I am a surrogate.”

It wasn’t that Adam used her, though that is true. And it wasn’t the serpent used her, but that is true, very true.

But remember, the command that God gave to them in the form of a spirit being was that they should multiply and propagate and replenish the earth, and take preeminence and jurisdiction.

And that begin to take place in the flesh. Then of course, they went the wrong way. But she did recognize God in birth that God was giving her children, and how tragic it is that today so many mothers forget that God the Author of Life has given them a sacred trust to bear the life that He has ordained to be upon the earth. See?

Because you see, God instead of creating each individual has made a method where by His individual should be placed upon earth here.

That’s why It says, “In Adam all died, in Christ all are made alive.”

But It also said, “We were in Christ before the foundation of the world.” And in Him was the ability to bring that life.

So God could take His Own Spirit Life and use It how He desired to bring forth children and so therefore, Adam and Eve were surrogates but especially Eve, because… in the fact Adam could not bear children of his own, although the woman is not without the man.

“He put the greater burden upon her to be that sacred vessel,” as Brother Branham said. A trust to Almighty God to bring children.

And the majority of those who do love their children bring them forth and love them. They’re good women no doubt.

They forget they are in a sense surrogates, they’re channels for God to bring forth these children and apply the Token and have one great purpose in life as mothers and that is to point their children to God.

Because the children are God’s and they have been given the distinction of bearing them. That’s the same as the man has been given that power also and he should not derogate it.

And this lax age of running to and fro, eating and drinking with violence and sexual perversion, mothers and fathers must become one in Christ as never before. One in the Word and clean up the house and the home, and keep it clean for these children are the heritage of God, His very elect to go back to Eden, for these children are they who could well be those of virgin minds and lives by the grace of God.

I said a mouthful there. I don’t think any of us talk to our children that way, but they should be talked to that way.

26

You see, I’m talking a little bit like Solomon, “I’m going to the place of death,” for I over shot my mark or didn’t come near it, when it came to telling our children. Of course they left home before there was any clue to this Message.

So the best they could get was a bastardization of these deity of Almighty God somewhere between one and three, who knows exactly.

Knowing there’s One but how? Knowing the Baptism but not knowing too much what it’s all about. Knowing some things, but not knowing where they were going.

Not knowing this hour in which we live to be so absolutely pointed as to be that hour and demonstrated and vindicated, so that we could pass on to our children what they could have.

For as you younger ones, and we’ll talk about grandmothers later on, older ones, you have a privilege at this time to point your children at a very young age that they may be as unique and even more unique than the Samuel’s and the Moses’.

And those that were truly dedicated to Almighty God, because they’re the ones who can have a virgin mind and not necessarily be second generation, because God doesn’t have grandchildren.

There’s a great purpose here that you have a vision that you can tell them of and this will start with the women even more than with the men, although the men will certainly have a great part in it.

27

So, mothers have a great part in this as they are usually so much more with the children than are the fathers. And they must learn to teach the children correctly.

It is not said in the bible, that women cannot teach their children. It is said in the Bible women should teach their children.

They cannot teach in Church and that’s the beautiful part of it. If they’re correctly taught, they would have to have a correct teaching usually, correctly we’re talking of prodigal.

Scriptural delineation, it should come from the ministry to the husband, to the mother, to the children. So there is a perfect understanding as much as can be acquired.

For the children will know that something is being said if there’s something in them; you can be three years old and four years old.

I sat on a pew wiggling my feet; I was a wiggle-worm. I simply can’t sit still like you nice people sit here and sit there. I don’t know how you do it. I wiggle, wiggle.

And I remember when the old Presbyterian minister… I don’t remember one word that he said, but I knew that he was saying something. It was valuable, it was real.

As I got older I knew the next fellow was saying nothing worth a plug nickel and I would sit there and cuss and pull the wings off of flies and do stupid things, you know.

At least it was better than listening to him. His teaching was so jaded as to be pitiful. He was a Methodist knew nothing but a little bit about rum, and the way he looked I think he drank kegs of it. He was nothing from no where, a brilliant man but a little bit atheist what it amounted to, worse than that, pervert or two.

28

Children can pick up many things whether you think they pick up or not, they’re literal sponges.

And so therefore, they will know something is going on and the mother has a great part in teaching them, and when she can’t answer questions to break it down to the simplicity children desire, there’s the father’s always there to come along with help with the simplistic and the deeper things that the whole family may be thoroughly indoctrinated and that’s a good word when you use it right.

Even the word ‘tradition’ is good when you use it right. So thoroughly indoctrinated to the truth as it is in Christ Jesus and revealed in this hour. It is not enough to bring the children into the world. It is necessary to fashion their lives according to the Word of this hour.

29

Now, I know that this is not what the psychiatrist and the so call teachers, not much use for teachers at all, I’m sorry, I’ve literally no use for the teaching profession.

I’ve literally no use for a lot of things, lawyers especially. I have little use for doctors, we’ll talk about that. Because the teaching profession is so perverted it’d be pitiful.

Not that there aren’t good teachers there. Brother Branham had a good teacher, I had good teachers.

But I talk about the profession across the board, and they’ll sell your children down the river in ninety percent of the cases when it comes to the truth and the Word of Almighty God.

But I’m not going to say, take your children out of school for one minute, that’s up to you and the Lord. You got to be led.

But I’ll tell you the Catholic’s said for years, when they had their schools, “You give us a child he’s seven years of age we’ll never lose him.” Thank God they’re losing them now.

But let me tell you, in the mean time the Catholic church has changed. Where are those fine nuns that were dedicated? You know that was the secret of the Catholic church the nuns, not the monks that were monkeying around, but the nuns. You bet. There’s where it lay. Your mothers, mother superiors, what have you.

30

There was a time I’d of sooner sent my child to a Roman Catholic church then a Protestant. On one grounds, if my child had been thoroughly taught before he got to that school.

What I’m trying to bring out here is this: look there’s trouble with children in schools that’s true, but could not the trouble be a great deal at home? See?

Now, if you do your best there, like Brother Branham said, “Doctors, [he said,] I go to doctors, when they fail I go to Higher Authority.” See?

You got to understand there’s certain things that you do, and from that point on they’re in the hands of God whether you like it or not.

What if Hannah’s little boy had got under the hands of those cruddy birds, Eli’s sons? Filthy womanizers lying right in public sexually. There had to come a time when she trusted God not the system.

Hannah I know didn’t like the system. I’m sure Elkanah didn’t liked the system. I’m sure Zacharias didn’t like the system. They couldn’t of like the system too well. But they had to go along, but they knew God was bigger than the system. See?

So, there comes a time when you got to understand these things. You are responsible, the mother particularly but the father is not left out. Because he’s got to be the bastion of strength that gives the mother the ability to do it. But you’ve got to fashion the lives of your children. It’s your job.

Brother Branham said, “Hollywood fashions the women.” Then what are we doing in response to it?

Our kids go to school, the first thing they feel peer pressure, that’s a diabolical factor, because we’re socially oriented. We’re gregarious by nature we can’t help it.

It’s all on nature, except the birds eat the seeds off of a tree and carry them somewhere. Little oaks grow all around the oak tree, because that’s where the acorns fall.

31

Everything in nature pulls together. Birds of a feather flock together. Peer pressure is a horrible thing, but you know something? If you keep your children in the home, devote your time to them, and others of like mind, it’s been known in many of schools that kids form their own clubs in a proper social way, without bucking traditional authority to the place where they wanted to constitute their own authority.

But, like Daniel and the three Hebrew children, they became an authority and they were able to come up by the precepts that were given to them by their parents.

So, we have to fashion our children, and that starts in the crib. And since this hour is one of tragic deceit the children must be guided by the wisdom of the prophet who gave us the Word in this hour.

The Bible speaks of wise women as well as wise men. Bible speaks of three kinds of believers; It speaks of three kinds of ministries, the believers, make believers, unbelievers.

The ministry is prophet, wise men and scribes. The prophet brings the Word, The wise men are those the five-fold ministry who know what to do with the Word, and the scribe is that type of person who could only hand you a tape or a book, or give a very limited testimony.

32

Now, women can be very wise in their homes, because they know just what to do when it comes to the children and the Word of God. And the children love the parents, especially the mother, and the mother especially loves the children.

And she doesn’t have to come to the place where she won’t sever the umbilical cord. But she can certainly come to the place knowing that the children will make well use of everything that she says, if she only wants to give him that which is good for this hour which is this Word. The warnings are in there.

The entire regimen, that is of the child, should be based upon the Word only. Now, let’s just think of some of those things.

Child is smart enough to know to be warned. Speaking deceit that was the big thing we finished in just nineteen installments here. There is not only the deceit found in ‘The Anointed Ones of the End Time’ where children must be taught the Word of God. And when they do they run into trouble.

33

Our little granddaughter went to a Baptist school, where in they said now, “You must write an essay, and it doesn’t matter what’s in the essay, because you see, we only want to know what you can do with whatever you’re talking about.”

“What can I talk about?”

“Anything you like.”

“I can talk about God. I can talk about my grandmother. I can talk about Billy Sunday. I can talk about anybody I wanted.”

But our granddaughter decided to write about the prophet William Braham. All but threw her out of school. That did it. Where’s your teachers? I don’t trust them.

I don’t trust anybody except God, and I wish I trusted Him enough. I don’t trust Him enough. I’m letting you know.

“Wise as the serpents, they’re harmless as doves” Starts right in the cradle. Little kids learn, can’t touch a hot stove. You bet. They learn roses have briers. They learn the taste of castor oil is not like honey or molasses. They can learn.

You bet they’re sponges; it’s time to teach them. There’s all kinds of deceit in the world and it’s not just preachers, the doctors can be deceivers too.

34

How quick our little children learn from their parents who foolishly give them aspirin for everything, and antibiotics that don’t work, drugs that accumulate in the system. Everything is palliative instead of going to the course, and the doctors fight the holistic approach.

Because anybody knows that the life in your body if that life is a right life and a good life, and I’m talking now of the physical as well as the spiritual.

The body can throw about anything off, because people are literally frozen to where they say, “That person can’t live.” Come back to life and literally roasted and come out living.

Man has got a life in him is the greatest life, because it came down from God. But you got to watch that life. And children should be taught their bodies are temples of the Holy Ghost. And doctors do defile the body. The psychologist, psychiatrists do defile.

Now, you don’t make them little whimpering kids that are afraid of their shadows, but you let them know it’s the Word of God that God backs up.

And though there be trials and hardships, and we all go through chastening and periods. Kids learn it very easily. They learn what it is, they didn’t ask to get sick and mommy and daddy didn’t want them to get sick either. But they do everything they can to help.

Look at drugs, doctors gave Thalidomide. How many children were born? Terrible cripples you can see today. The administrative government, the FDA, what did they do? Next to nothing. They won’t tell you the things you can use to be very helpful. See?

The point is, I’m letting you know something brother/sister, you are responsible whether you want to know it or not. We let our kids have too many chocolate bars, thought it was good for them, I was off on meat at that time, on a meatless kick, and I can go either way no meat or lots, wouldn’t matter, but I can’t eat meat now like I use to. I’d have no problem I could either way.

So all during the war, that’s the Second World War, my wife had nylons. I’d trade my meat stamps off for this and that, of course the jolly the girls would give me. I would trade the meat for the sugar and things. We’d put down hundreds of quarts of jam, wrong thing.

35

All right, let’s go a little further. The companies are deceitful. They manufacture food and they tell you how good Sugar Crisps are. Ninety percent sugar. And sugar has the same molecular structure understand as drugs do, and it’s a pure carbon, it’ll destroy you.

And they say, “Oh it’s a good carbon, and it’s got even less calories than honey had. Let’s eat sugar.”

Just a minute honey has got other things in it. Got some amino acids I believe and some minerals, I don’t know.

We got to figure it out and find out. Deceit. Oh the food companies deceive you and the kids watch it.

They say, “Mommy and dad let me have that.”

You say, “No, we’ll give you something better.”

You can form their appetites; you can form their passions. You know all about the fact that hyper-kinetic kids what their trouble is.

You know how it is when people can be hyper adults and begin to level their bodies off and the prophet said, “There’s nothing out here in the soil.”

So what’s you and I suppose to do as parents? Give them junk? I wish I’d of been smart, I’d do it over again. I don’t think our boy would have died of lupus.

I don’t think for one minute our daughter would be just twice as bad off as we are, and her daughter twice as bad off as she is and her kids are twice as bad off as the granddaughter.

36

Now, you can’t sit here this morning and say, I’m a mother, I’m a father, especially a mother, because you do the cooking.

Now you’re going to see more and more stuff thrown out of our house, whether my wife likes it or not, and especially she likes it for company.

I’m going to tell you, you better bring your own sweets from now on, because they’ve all got to go. I can’t preach here one thing, and do and do another thing. I can’t tell you pay your income tax and me not pay mine.

For years I thought I was underpaid, I found out by getting a good accountant that I overpaid. Well I can’t get it back; I won’t be a sucker the next time. What about my food? What about my living?

Industries pollute the land, they join land to land. Children should be taught against evil. Politicians lie and cheat and sell the people to slavery. Our own children must be aware that politics is dangerous. Solomon was a politician, started out as a Christian.

As Brother Branham said, “You get a man that’s a real good man, a fine man; put a policeman’s uniform on him, what happens to him?”

37

Bankers create wealth and oppress people in need. The Bible says, “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness.”

I’m trying to show you something here brother/sister, we’re near total collapse, but there’s a possibility and it’s not a vague impossibility.

There are ways that God has not taken from us that we can not only survive, but our families can survive as true Christians. And I know that being healthy doesn’t necessarily mean you’re going to be a tremendous outstanding Christian.

But I’m going to tell you one thing Brother Branham said, “The servant of the Lord is entitled to a healthy body.”

You and I are servants of God. How healthy is our entitlement? Is it because we’ve been into drugs? We’ve been fooling around. Is it because we neglected our bodies?

Why do you think God laid down health rules during the Exodus? What came out of the Exodus in Egypt? Came down the whole panoply of the Word of Almighty God to get them out of there.

And in there told them, “You will not be like those people out there.”

38

Now, we’re not going to be a bunch of nuts. Nah, that’s not being a bunch of nuts. You’ll be good generous, civic minded in the right way Christians whose government is from God that supersedes anything this government, or this people can produce and say this is the way.

And it says, “God said, this is the way.”

Then let us start in the cradle. Go back over your own lives. Check your selves out. Wouldn’t you like to had somebody had given you that kind of break. I sure wish I’d of had it.

I wish I’d given my kids that kind of a break. And mother love will give the children that kind of a break. Wifely love will give that husband that kind of a break.

And a husband love and a father love will be the constituted authority that sees number one: the Word of God above everything else.

For we can starve, listen, let’s face it, I’m not putting these things here just to talk about it, then say, “Well they’re going to supersede the spiritual.”

39

Let’s look for a second at the physical conditions that can come upon us.

Romans 8:35

(35) Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

Look it, you can be the healthiest person in all the world. You can go on and eat the best food anybody can prepare and never get one lick of it. Starvation could come.

Though David said, “I’ve been young, now I’m old, yet I’ve not seen the righteous forsaken, nor His seed begging bread.”

And though the times were tough in Bible times, I don’t know of people starving, except under idolatry. When they abjectly, distinctly desired and did leave God. Then they got the reward of the heathen.

But you could be thrown in prison; I could too and not have any food. It’s possible. How many? Come on, hardly anybody. Could it happen on mass? It could I don’t know, but I know one thing, what supersedes this is the Life of God.

It’s written, “For Thy sake we’re killed all the day long, and count the sheep for the slaughter.” “Nay, in all these things are more than conquerors.”

But you know brother/sister, there’s nothing in the Word of God that tells you and me to act foolishly outside the laws that God’s laid down.

So I want you to understand these things, I’m not preaching religion here of do’s and don’ts, I’m not saying that for one minute, I’m just brings to your attention these things here that belong in the home.

We are to: “Seek the Kingdom of God above everything first, and all things be added to us.”

40

In other words all the things that are for us in the natural realm, that will be a benefit to us physically and mentally.

As the Bible tells you the mental aspect is: “Whatsoever things are good and whatsoever things are lovely. Whatsoever things are pure think upon these things.”

It tells you. “And as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.”

We know these things positively. But brother/sister let me tell you, our thoughts then must be the thoughts that God has put here from His Word and on this earth that have been shown to be correct. We are nearing the very end of total collapse.

This is the hour that God will purify the earth by fire. The children must understand judgment therefore, but they learn to bear and forbear and trust God and leave judgment to Him.

But you cannot get the children’s eyes off of judgment, but that’s not to make them judgmental, so let them know what’s going on. But it doesn’t mean to partake certainly.

Mother’s have a lot to do with it, because you see they’re training in these lines come exactly at the time… almost at birth let’s face it.

When does a child start to learn? The instantly the child’s born. How does he learn? He starts to breathe right away. Starts to listen, hunger pangs, starts to cry. Child learns instantly, there’s no time when he’s not learning.

And you know it pays to take the time with the children to see they’re learning correctly as much as you can. You’re not responsible for what you don’t know.

And you’re not responsible if the child is incorrigible, you’ve done your best. But how many children are incorrigible? How many children really are hyper? How many children really are and how did they get that way?

41

Now, we know the genes accounts for an awful lot. I would not deny that for one minute, that genes account for a great deal, but they don’t account for everything.

Because you can take a plant out here, and maybe the genes in that plant aren’t the world’s greatest, but you can nurture that plant until you can get the best out of the plant.

And I think myself for the human being and especially we take our children to be the promises of God, and the children God gave us and we are those surrogates, so to speak, especially the mothers.

Mothers are a great force in turning children to righteousness, absolutely we see in Scripture all the time. But the worldly mother and religious mother won’t do it.

It takes the spiritual mothers of this Message to protect their children, and by grace it can be done. But don’t forget, I speak not only to women in the sense that they are mothers bringing up young children, but I want to refer you to the fact grandmothers have a great position here too.

42

And let us see what the Word of God says.

2 Timothy 1:1-5

(01) Paul, and apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God. According to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus,

(02) To Timothy, my dearly beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

(03) I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers, with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day;

(04) Greatly desiring to see thee, being mindful of thy tears, that I may be filled with joy.

(05) When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.

Notice, if your grandmother really loved God, your mother had a better chance, then you’ve got the best chance of all.

But remember what Brother Branham said, he said, “Your grandmother was a flapper and your mother’s a harlot, a prostitute.” That’s what you’re bucking right now.

You know, everybody ought to thank God for some type of a godly mother and father. I don’t care if they were Trinitarian. They did their best, they did their best.

Some of you came out of homes where your parents are Christians and you were rebellious, but I tell you something, if you had something from God, you found the way of the transgressor’s heart.

They were like the troubled sea they cast up dirt and mire, “there’s no peace, says my God, to the wicked.”

You know the strain is a dangerous thing. Now what is the first thing you try to do with your child? Stop that child from strain.

But I want you to notice in here it’s passed on. Not passed on in every case. Not passed on as though this is a type, a real stereotype here, or it’s a prototype and a type and the whole thing.

But he said, “Grandmother, mother and you.”

43

What if we went to a third generation, nothing to be alarmed about. If God so ordained, and remember, let’s say if you as a young person, years back now, twenty five years ago, you were married, maybe say, thirty five, well, let’s just put about twenty eight years of age.

And your children were six years old and you had two, three years old. You’d have grandchildren today; pretty soon coming to great grandchildren. With the pure Word of Almighty God that which world it adhered to.

Listen, Israel would have been the greatest nation, and it was, but would have been the greatest nation, where the sun never sat upon her folly or in glorious condition. But all was sat and rose upon her glorious condition.

Now, we’re not going to go that way I don’t suppose. I’m trying to draw you a picture here.

If we get come very, very serious in our homes lives, and in our prayer lives, our Christian lives with our families, there is no limit to where this Word will go, because this Word is going to go right back to God very soon.

44

So, I trust that you just keep this in mind now, and I want to close in recalling a little illustration that Brother Branham gave concerning Brother Hall, the man with the lizard eyes.

You know he made this little reed instrument that could call the mother deer, the doe, as though it were a little fawn in distress.

And he said, “This man blew on that, and right away this mother stepped out into a clearing, which a deer would never do ready to sacrifice her life.”

And of course the man did not kill the deer, but normally he would have killed that deer. And the story of course was about the love of the mother for her child.

Now, I want to liken this story with this thought, mothers give up so much for their children. That’s true they do. Their lives are usually sacrificial when it comes to their children; it’s sacrificed in many ways. But, it is a worthy sacrifice if their lives are dedicated to rearing their children in the admonition of the Lord.

And not used as a club, as some mothers would do, and say, “Well look at what I sacrificed for you.” Then they want to bind the children to their apron strings, then they get rebellion.

You know the greatest thing in the world, and we failed to do it in every generation, is to teach the children to meet the hour in which they live, and having taught them to set them free with God. I never did it, I thought I was doing it, but I didn’t do it.

45

Now, look I don’t know how many more years you people got to raise your children. I’ve got no idea, but I know some like myself here, and some of you here, you’re grandparents.

Already you’ve been a good influence on your children and you’ll be a great influence on your grandchildren. I think it’s time as we have tried to make this church a family church where we have our ‘pow-wows’.

And it’s a good pow, we pass the peace pipe starting with the eight men on the board. I stay outside unless I’m called in or want something special myself.

And we work amongst everybody here as a family. It’s about time that the parents and the parent’s parents, became an intergraded unity of the bringing up of children and of sticking together and the giving of help.

Above all, spiritual support, out of it coming a moral support, and at times when feasible a physical support, but the physical is not as great as the spiritual and the moral, where the children come up in an atmosphere which we’ve tried to inculcate by you talking together on your Fridays.

And it’s [bearing] fruit up here where I’ll put this Church against any Church in the world. Now, that doesn’t look good for me, though it does look good for me. And I admit it, leadership counts for a lot. I’ll put you up against any Church in the world.

As to your knowledge, as to an understanding with knowledge, and as to principles, accepted in the knowledge and we’re looking for more of the principles and the understanding of spiritual conception in early form.

46

So, we look at that and we want that in our Church and in every home, so that every Church is well fortified and every family is well fortified. As I say every Church, I trust every Church like ours, and I trust we’re fortified.

Like I said many times, we’ve got ninety two seats, a little more than that, they could go in ninety two directions tomorrow morning, but by the grace of God it won’t.

So the same with our families as individual families; as brothers and sisters you got relationships stronger than blood. It’s the Blood of Jesus Christ.

And a life that is stronger than your bond in life, same mother and father you’ve got the Life of the Lord Jesus Christ. All these things are in your favor with the Word that has made you wise unto salvation.

You have the devil’s answers, you have Christ purpose you have it all. Every child can be taught that some way or another and every home become a Word home. It’s in our power brother/sister if we only want it.

47

So, it’s a worthy sacrifice; if these women have dedicated their lives to their children in the admonition of the Lord.

They are the most wonderful mothers in the world who concerning their children saying, not as Hannah, “I’ve loaned him to the Lord as long as he lives,” but rather these children have been loaned to me by God.

And I will respect His ownership. I will respect the children’s great Giver and bring them up as is required of God by me. This is not to try to out dedicate Hannah.

I am against anything where you try to out dedicate, out preach, out anything. I’ve said too many times, “Don’t try to out God, out word the Word, out prophet the prophet, out anybody it’ll destroy you.”

But I’m going to tell you something, “You can out do yourself.” That’s what you can do.

And I see evidences amongst you that I think are fantastic, and hopefully shall see even more. Not for me, because I count but little. True, very little. It is this revealed Word of the hour that is everything.

And we stand on this one thing brother/sister, that the Life is moving around the Life of that Word by the grace of God, It must or there is nothing left for any of us. You might as well close shop.

Perhaps you and I don’t see all the evidence we wish to see, but don’t worry we’ll see it, we’ll see it. Because if man by his word can accomplish so much don’t tell me that God by His Word won’t accomplish every jot and title to the glory of Almighty God, especially for this hour. See?

48

This is not meant to try to out dedicate Hannah, but this last age produces a Bride that has a perfection unknown hitherto, so why not apply it to the mothers. We’ve applied it to ourselves individuals, sure we have. Hallelujah, I’m going to get out of here, not even going to die.

Scripture said, absolutely says in the Word of God that man is going to die. There’s going to be a judgment. That’s his predestinated lot as you go along through life. But in this hour there are those who are not going to die.

And Brother Branham said, “If there is just going to be one you claim that for yourself.”

But he also said this, “The condition you leave here is the condition you get there.”

I’m not trying to put an onus on mothers now, but let’s get this flat, mothers you have more to do with the children than anybody. That’s it.

You’ve got a tough job, but you’ve got a great job. You’ve got a fantastic job in the sense if you’re dedicated to this Word, believing It with all you heart and act that way toward your children and there will be more born in this assembly before the Lord takes up out of here I do believe, they’re coming along fine now, beautiful babies.

There’ll be beautiful children that belong to the Lord. We’re not of the world anymore brother/sister, we don’t have that our hearts and our mind, but we can… as God’s Word has taken us back to where He wanted us, may we by the grace of God as a family unit.

Now, I don’t want to say put all the effort on the mother, but as a family unit the husband’s must be that bulwark that bastion, that strength that stands right there.

49

Women fail miserably many times because of the men, perhaps more times. Although God knows the tables are turning, where women typing what they do type, have come to a terrible state of moral and spiritual devastation.

But we’re forgetting that amongst us. We look at it and we know that it is there and we can understand and teach our children and move on.

Because brother/sister I want to tell you, I don’t care how dark it is, a Light has shone in this hour that the Light… the darkness can do nothing about it. Even death can do nothing about it, no sir.

There’ll be a beautiful little girl get out of here called ‘a Bride’. And you know what? The Bible speaks of her as a mother. Sure, getting out of here.

So, there’s a lot of grace that God gives with His Glory. There’s a lot of hard times to go through. But you know what the Bible distinctly said is so true?

A woman in travail she knows the suffering she’s been through for those months. A problem. And the moment of delivery may be hours for delivery, she knows what she goes through when the child is born. She doesn’t look the same anymore.

50

One of the most beautiful sights in all the world is a young girl who’s going to get married. I say if you’re not beautiful at sweet sixteen you’ll never be beautiful, so forget it. That’s it for sure.

…I think even the more beautiful sight is a young mother who has just borne her first baby. There’s something about her that should be and is radiant, and most absolutely beautiful.

And you can compare that to the great day that is coming. What a place God has put the mother’s in, if we just begin to realize it as a people, it cannot be shuck down the women.

It cannot… now listen, if you think that’s my story this morning, you have lost the point, you go home now, you’re a mess. I’m putting out all of us; all of us are in this together.

Because beautiful mothers alone cannot bring forth beautiful children, beautiful home. It takes the father, it takes the grandparents, it takes all of us.

So, let’s trace our ancestry right back to Christ and see now something that’s He’s doing here in the physical that shows Him forth, gives us a great place in His ministry and His program that He might get a little glory at this time.

Let’s rise and be dismissed.

Heavenly Father, we’re grateful again to have been here with you Lord, to know some of the things in the Word that are true. That we’re able to face with the sweet Spirit of Jesus Christ and at the same time the spirit that’s in the world, so that we know there is a great difference.

There are those mothers out there, and some have done great jobs, we understand that. They’re great fine people. Others Lord have not realized that they’re really surrogates for the Lord. They’re not their own bosses, there isn’t anybody’s own boss.

And Lord, we’re trying to get back and, I hope by Your Grace there’s something now has happened in our hearts by the Spirit of Almighty God, operating through this Word, to bring us all into Your beautiful relationship, as we’ve never had before and in understanding.

As Brother Branham said, when he said he had to say so many things against the type that women portrayed that’s, the women of the world.

And he said, “I’m going to tell you sisters later on about your place and how great it is,” and it is such a great and wonderful place.

Father, we pray, that every mother here shall have a blessed Mother’s Day today in that something happens in every heart to give each one a more glorious and marvelous release of the Spirit of Almighty God. And the liberty and joy which is in Jesus Christ.

The power of overcoming and the power Lord of serving and even the power of determining people’s lives by bringing the children up in the admonition of Jesus Christ our Lord, knowing that when this is done there is a course been set for the future, which is in Your hands.

And it must come out the way, Lord is predetermined for Your Glory and for Your Honor.

Father, we know that there’s areas in there that are little dark, because we know that so many homes plans so much, but Father we know in this hour we’re a different people that we believe as the prophet said applying the Token, we can plan in a way that nobody else’s plan so, therefore You set our course, we set our sails by these stars and these winds that blow, Lord [inaudible] as the world does.

So, we are looking for Your rich blessings upon the mothers of this church and we looking Lord for the fathers to be a rich blessing to the mothers and the children to be true heritage of God and all together somehow typing what lies just ahead of us.

Father we are not praying in vain today, we know that somebody has got to move into those circles Lord, and by Your Grace Father because, You give us that Revelation, You give us an understanding it’ll be Your Light in Your life that helps us to move into those circles.

Bless everyone in Divine Presence as the prophet prayed so often. May not one leave here ill or in their [inaudible] in their body, but heal the sick amongst us bring that sweet Spirit amongst us Lord.

Gifts says that we’re on the shelf, every Vindication, we worry about- put to one side. We’re just looking if You Lord- looking at Your Vindicated Word.

Thanking You for what You’ve done for us, and what You’re doing now and unto Thee we shall give the Honor and the Glory, because we asked in Jesus’ name. Amen.

The Lord Bless you.
